Raging Bull H-D® Service FAQs

Check your engine oil before every ride. You can check it cold; if your bike has sat for a while, run it for three to five minutes and check it again.

Check your tire pressure before every ride. Tire pressure varies by model, so check your service manual for the correct PSI.

Tires must be replaced when they hit under 3 3/2nds, are cracked, punctured, and/or show signs of dry rot. Purchase a tire tread depth gauge from our Parts department to ensure your tires are road ready.

After your initial 1,000 mile service, your bike should be serviced every 5,000 miles. Raging Bull H-D® recommends using SYN3 for engine oil changes for all twin cam models.

Scheduled services are more than just an oil change. Check your service manual or ask a staff member in our Service department for more information regarding the coverage for your service.

Your pre ride check routine can be summarized by T-CLOCS:

• T(IRES): Check the pressure of your tires when cold, their wear, the wheels for damaged rims or spokes, and remove any objects stuck in the tread that could cause a puncture.
• C(ONTROLS): Inspect the condition of hoses, cables, and levers. Check the throttle, clutch, and brakes operate properly.
• L(IGHTS): Check the headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and battery are working properly. Check the reflectors, lenses, mirrors, and wiring are undamaged.
• O(IL): Check engine oil levels, fuel levels, and inspect the two for leaks.
• C(HASSIS): Check the frame condition, streeting head, swing-arm, suspension, forks, shocks, belt tension, and sprockets. Adjust your suspension outlined in your owner's manual to accommodate your load and type of riding.
• S(IDESTAND): Check its condition and ensure the retention spring is in place.
